Executed - Rod is under maximum load during the "Power Stroke" Both top and bottom hand now move sharply, Top - from blue to red, whilst the bottom pulls slightly down and into body.
Only by creating this tension through the rod [Picture] will the angler get 100% from the rod. When throwing a stone we move our bodyweight from one foot to another. To enable us to throw the stone even further we can do one of two things. We can run and throw, or, create a leaver, a sling. In the Speycast, we use the rod as the sling and we transfer bodyweight, just as we would if we were throwing quite a heavy stone across the river. This weight transfer begins to load the rod against the anchor of line left on the water, culminating in [Timing here is critical] a short sharp stab forward with the top hand [Fulcrum] and the same short sharp stab, but back into the stomach with the lower hand. At this point the rod must be fully loaded in order to obtain desired results.
