The All New Hardy Zenith Double Handed Rods -
As a company, Hardy/Greys have constantly pushed the boundaries, in both design and creativity. The past 18 months have seen us develop a new material which, moving forward will undoubtedly set new standards within the industry. In fact this has already materialised with the very successful launch of our new Zenith range of single handed rods, which, even in the USA, are already living up to their name by winning best 5 weight in a test run by yellowstoneangler.com
Those are soon to be followed by the Zenith Double Handed Rods, and wow, nothing I have ever used even comes close to this! Matched with new lines, designed to complement their actions, like the trout rods, those will set the trend in the market. Revolutionary by design and construction, the fly-rod has reached its Zenith!
Sintrix has provided the platform to build rods which - Add strength to the part of the rod which initially absorbs energy during the loading of the rod, but importantly, without compromising the action or weight of the rod.
After two years of testing what we now have are a range of super fast, lightweight rods with an action that meets perfectly the requirements of todays market.
Sintrix Zenith
151 - 126 At last we have a material which allows the goalposts to be moved! The development of this ultra light, and fast material, for the first time has provided us with the opportunity to design, without fear of breaking, the ultimate in salmon rods. In this range I decided to incorporate a piece of both Scandi and Traditional. The superior strength of the material meant we could put together a rod with a super fast action. The nature of this material gives us something new, in that, all rods are capable of dealing with a much wider range of line weight. This range will be fitted with Shorter Scandi handles, as this better fits the range, although its now in my mind to have two versions T and S finish of the same 151 rod. Those rods are so versatile, the sales person could close their eyes and pick any line and they would all work, a truly amazing product! Another thing about this material, is the fact that, If need be, rods can really bully fish. So many big fish are lost because the angler is not hard enough on them. Not a problem now! There is no doubt in my mind; many people in the future will owe their record fish to this material. Catch and Release also requires the fish to be played quickly and firmly, again, there is nothing I have used better than this.
The 146 can be described as a true underhand casting rod with lightening transfer of energy over a very short stroke. Generally speaking the people who have this technique are competent and so will bring the best out of the rod. The 151 was designed for deeper loading and slightly longer lines. The extreme nature of this material, along with the design of this rod produces line speed and loop shape, second to nothing I have used. Rod should be matched with Mach Force 10# or Multi Tip. What I have noticed more than anything about this material is the wide range of line weights which can be used. Depending on technique used, this rod performs equally well with a #8 as it does with an #11. The 136 is my favourite fishing rod in the Zenith range. A combination of the material and the new 8/9 Hardy multi tip, for me, provides the angler with the ultimate Fly-fishing tool. Light, Strong and again, can handle a wide range of line weight than any other rod I know, but can also really bully fish. The 126 may be the baby of the range, but, in keeping with the rest of its family, this little powerhouse is capable of so much more than its mortal predecessors. The unique ability to cast such a wide range of lines opens this up to all sorts of fishing situations. From very light delicate low water summer work on big rivers, to sunk line spring fishing on small ones, this baby packs a punch like no other in its class.
Artisan 154 139 Although modelled on the deluxe range produced by us in the early 1980s, and, like their predecessor, todays 154 and 139 are also made with the best and most high tech material available on the market. The 139 has been described by almost everyone who has used it as simply the best rod they have ever used. The new 154 Artisan rod is our Flagship, a symbol of strength, a powerhouse with no equal in its weight class. However, much like its iconic predecessor, it is much more than this, it is also the latest in a line of products build here in Alnwick dating back to 1872, the latest in the line of products designed and developed by master craftsmen with a link all the way back to the formation of the company. For those who value their fly fishing, the 154 and 139 are perfection, covering every facet of salmon fishing here in the 21st Century - The Ultimate Pair!

Artisan 139 and 154
Our Artisan range represents the ultimate in double handed rods available today.
The 154
One of the key features of our Sintrix material is to conceal incredible reserves of power behind an extremely light and well balanced product. The 154 Artisan rod has a progressive action and for those fishing medium/long floating or sinking lines, it has enormous reserves of power in the lower part of the rod. However, as is characteristic of this material, the rod also reacts incredibly well to shorter, heavy lines. The middle to tip recovery of the blank is lightning fast with little or no deflection making it a top performance rod wrapped in a stunning exterior.
139
Described by nearly all who have used it as the best they have used by far, the 139 artisan has an action not dissimilar to that of the 154, however, because of its length and balance, it has the feeling of a much faster blank. The reserve of power and incredibly fast recovering blank provides the caster with a versatile rod favouring shorter headed lines. Those fortunate enough to fish with this dynamic fast rod will feel something incredibly light and ultra-responsive, but with a backbone of steel.
With a performance matching that of its cousin the Zenith, Artisan brings the marriage of strength and elegance to a different level, a level only associated with
